'There will be no Gorkhaland. Bengal will not be Divided” Mamata Banerjee

Mamata Banerjee has made it clear, “There will be no Gorkhaland.” Addressing party cadres and supporters at Kalchini in Jalpaiguri District yesterday, the Trinamul Congress President said, “Trinamul Congress will not allow any move to divide West Bengal. There will be no Gorkhaland.” Indicating that her party is in favour of an integrated development programme in the Hills, Banerjee said, “an integrated development programme in the hill areas is the key to reach a permanent and peaceful settlement.”

The Trinamul Congress President’s statement that there would be no Gorkhaland has put Gorkha Janmukti Morcha in an ‘awkward position’ as the party has offered its ‘unconditional support to the Trinamul Congress .
